Air curtains are divided into 3 main items: commercial, industrial and cold room types.

- Commercial air curtains are used in places where customer entrances and exits are intense, such as business centers, banks, hotels, shops, restaurants, markets, hospitals. Depending on the door height, there are varieties with hanging heights of 2 meters, 2.3 meters and 2.9 meters. Its width may vary depending on the door width.

- Industrial air curtains are used in places such as garages, factories and gyms with door heights of up to 6 meters. Modular types are used for door heights up to 4 meters, and special types of industrial air curtains are used for doors with door heights between 4 meters and 6 meters.

- Cold room air curtains are used on cold room and cold storage doors to prevent energy loss during material entry and exit, as well as to ensure that cold room conditions do not change. In many European countries, the use of segmented PVC curtains is not allowed, as food materials should not touch anything during transfer to the cold room. For this reason, air curtains are widely used at cold room entrances, thus ensuring cleanliness and better energy saving compared to PVC curtains.

2. Air curtains by installation type

- Over-the-door models: These are the most used and most efficient air curtains. Since the most air flow is at the top of the door, blowing from the top of the door will more easily prevent the energy loss that occurs with the air flow.

- Vertical air curtains: In cases where mounting on the door is impossible or if it is preferred from an architectural perspective, the air curtain can be installed vertically next to the door. In this way, the height (length) of the air curtain will be the same as the door height. Depending on the width of the door, the air curtain can be located on one or both sides of the door.

- Hidden ceiling models: If there is a suspended ceiling at the entrance of the building, if the air curtain is desired to be invisible, hidden ceiling types can be used. Only the vent of the air curtain placed inside the suspended ceiling is visible. Blowing and suction fins should be on the same vent at different angles.

3. Air curtains according to heating energy

Air curtains with heaters are generally preferred in Turkey's seasonal conditions. However, in southern regions where they are used only in summer conditions, ambient air types can be preferred. In some places where the cooling capacity is not sufficient, it may be required to pass refrigerant through the air curtain in summer to supplement the cooling system. In this case, it is necessary to order special device with condensation pan. In fact, since the cooling capacity is provided by fan-coolers or air ducts, additional cooling is not expected from the air curtain, but when insufficiencies are encountered, it is possible to provide this additional cooling with the air curtain. Apart from this special case, it is also possible to classify air curtains according to the following heater types.
